Location

Westlake Village lies in the heart of the Conejo Valley Technology Corridor, 8 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and 38 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. The community is just off the 101 Freeway allowing easy access to the extensive freeway system of Southern California.

Demographics

The City of Westlake Village has a population of 8,341*. The median incomes are among the highest in the country at $75,000. The community is highly educated, 44% have 16 or more years of education, and family oriented, 60% are married. Almost half of the population is employed in either an executive or professional position.

Housing

The City of Westlake offers a wide variety of housing options, from living on beautiful Westlake Lake to living in one of the many heavily wooded neighborhoods. Westlake Village also offers six gated communities with even greater security and privacy. Townhomes and condominiums are also choices for the Westlake Village resident with locations on the lake and in many of the gated communities.

Eductation

Residents of Westlake Village place a strong emphasis on primary and advanced education, which is evident by the fact that over 40% of the population have 16 or more years of schooling. To respond to this strong demand for high quality education are an array of sectarian and non-sectarian private schools as well as three nationally recognized school districts. The Las Virgenes Unified School District is the primary school district of Westlake Village with Conejo Valley Unified School District and the Oak Park Unified School District also servicing the area. LVUSD is made up of 12 schools: 7 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 3 high schools. Several of these schools have been named "distinguished schools" by the state or are winners of national "Blue Ribbon" recognition.
